Sales Accelerator Leads to Nearly 200% Revenue Increase for Participating Startups

FREDERICTON, N.B. – Planet Hatch, an entrepreneurship centre located in Fredericton, NB is pleased to announce the results of the first cohort of their Sales Accelerator Program.

The program, which launched in April of this year, included 5 companies who undertook rigorous sales training over a period of six weeks. Each company was also paired with a full-time student intern from either the University of New Brunswick or St. Thomas University, funded by FutureReadyNB, to help execute on their new sales strategy.

 The pilot program has had a significant initial impact. After the program, the average participant saw:

  • a 32% increase in total customers;
  • a 190% increase in monthly recurring revenue;
  • and a 267% increase in projected revenue over the next year.

 Participating companies included HomeWurk, Educated Beards, ET Mechanical, Parrill & Co., and SimpTek Technologies. Participants were selected from a pool of over 30 applicants.

In a follow-up satisfaction survey, participants confirmed the value of the program:

  • 100% of company representatives said they found the program “very valuable”;
  • 100% of company representatives said they “have a better understanding of how to build and use a defined sales process”, and now have an end-to-end sales playbook in place;
  • 100% of company representatives said they “would recommend the program to other entrepreneurs”.

Sales training was facilitated by Atlantic Growth Solutions (AGS), a business development and lead generation company located in Fredericton, NB. Through AGS, program participants received comprehensive training that addressed the critical areas of sales development and helped them build an end-to-end process for acquiring new opportunities, increasing the close-rate percentage faster.

Planet Hatch plans to accept applications for the second cohort of the Sales Accelerator Program in winter 2020.
