ARTREPRENEUR-in-residence
ARTrepreneur-in-Residence Program
Do you have a passion for creation but find yourself in need of basic business skills? Are you entering the creative workforce and unsure where to begin?
You love being an artist and we don’t want to change that. Turn your passion into a viable business with the ARTrepreneur-in-Residence program, an initiative designed to help creative workers turn their craft into a lucrative business by gaining access to key entrepreneurial resources. From weavers to writers, the ARTrepreneur-in-Residence program accepts creators from all disciplines looking to start and grow their business in Fredericton.
The scoop...
Located in Planet Hatch, Fredericton's core entrepreneurial hub, ARTrepreneurs will be given the necessary tools to begin building their business and professional network through free business tools such as mentorship, office and meeting space, access to events and entrepreneurial programming, ability to publicly display and promote their product or service, and so much more!
Our partners...
The collaboration extends further to the Fredericton Makerspace and The Ville, granting free access to the Fredericton Makerspace workshop, equipment, and hotdesk room. The ARTrepreneur-in-Residence program also offers access to multiple co-working hubs across Atlantic Canada as part of Planet Hatch’s Entrepreneurial Services Passport Program.

“For me it was a great stepping-stone into figuring out the right direction. I made amazing connections with other business people and photographers that have helped already...”
Kate Roy, PhotographerWho we're looking for...
Since this is an independent program, we are looking for creative, self-driven artists who want to build connections and relationships within the entrepreneurial community, grow their business locally, take full advantage of the resources available in Fredericton and either bring their product to market or increase market success!
Commitment...
Our residencies run for a period of 3 months and involves full participation in a business development plan, as well as 5-10 hours minimum to be spent at Planet Hatch, forcing you to take a break from creating and focus on the business side of things. The rest of the time can be spent further developing your product or service!
Still unsure?
Come to the hatch, check out the space, and meet with our team of experts! Every Wednesday we open our office and event space to the community. Host a meeting, work on your business OR just hang out on our big blue sofas.
